‘The Bear’: Disney+ Announces Third Season for Acclaimed Series

Disney+ has confirmed the renewal of the critically acclaimed FX series The Bear for a third season. The first two seasons, which have garnered widespread praise and numerous awards, are currently available for streaming on Disney+.

“The Bear, which wowed audiences in its first season only to achieve even greater heights in season two, has become a cultural phenomenon,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment. “We’re so proud to partner with Christopher Storer, Joanna Calo, Josh Senior, and the rest of the creative team, as well as the brilliant cast led by Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. What they and the crew have done is truly remarkable, and we and our partners at Hulu and Disney+ join fans in looking forward to the next chapter in the story of The Bear.”

Season one of the series is up for an whopping 13 Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series, and acting nods for Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Jon Bernthal, and Oliver Platt. The series has also earned recognition as an AFI TV Program of the Year, along with multiple awards such as a WGA Award, PGA Award, Film Independent Spirit Award, American Cinema Editors Award, and ACE Eddie Award. White was honored with the Golden Globe, SAG, and Critics Choice awards for lead actor in a comedy series.

The recently concluded season two followed the transformative journey of Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (White), Sydney Adamu (Edebiri), and Richard “Richie” Jerimovich (Moss-Bachrach) as they endeavoured to elevate their sandwich joint to new heights. Struggling with the challenges of renovating and reopening, the team faced bureaucratic hurdles, menu planning dilemmas, and a renewed focus on hospitality. The season delved into the personal and professional growth of each character as they confronted their pasts and contemplated their futures.

The Bear was created by Christopher Storer, whose credits include producing and directing work on lauded Hulu series Ramy, and features an executive production team including Joanna Calo, Hiro Murai of Super Frog, Josh Senior, and Matty Matheson. Tyson Bidner serves as the producer for the series, which is produced by FX Productions.
