Take a look above at the exciting teaser trailer that’s arrived for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, the fourth film in the reboot franchise that previously gave us the fantastic trilogy of films: Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014), and War for the Planet of the Apes (2017).

The next chapter is set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, in which apes are the dominant species living harmoniously and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape (played using motion capture by Owen Teague, It, Bloodline) undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.

The cast also includes Freya Allan (The Witcher), Kevin Durand (Locke & Key), Peter Macon (Shameless), and William H. Macy (Fargo).

The film was directed by Wes Ball (the Maze Runner trilogy), with a screenplay by Josh Friedman (War of the Worlds), Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (Avatar: The Way of Water), and Patrick Aison (Prey).

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will open exclusively in Australian cinemas May 23rd and U.S. cinemas May 24th, 2024.
