The highly anticipated trailer for Mickey 17 has arrived, giving audiences a first look at the latest film from Academy Award-winning director Bong Joon Ho (Parasite, Snowpiercer, Okja, The Host, Memories of Murder). Take a look above!

The sci-fi epic follows the unusual journey of Mickey Barnes (played by Robert Pattinson), an expendable worker who is tasked with sacrificing himself – over, and over, and over – for the good of his employer in a remote, icy colony. But as the trailer hints, Mickey begins to question his role, setting the stage for a gripping exploration of survival and identity… and duplicity.

Bong Joon Ho’s adaptation of the novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton boasts an impressive cast, with Pattinson leading alongside Naomi Ackie (Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker), Steven Yeun (Beef), Toni Collette (Hereditary), and Mark Ruffalo (Poor Things).

Behind the camera, the film is stacked with talent. Cinematography is handled by Darius Khondji (Amour, Uncut Gems, Okja), production design by Fiona Crombie (The Favourite), and editing by Bong’s frequent collaborator Yang Jinmo (Parasite). The film’s visual effects are overseen by Dan Glass (Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore). Produced by Oscar-winning producers Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Dooho Choi, and Bong Joon Ho.

Mickey 17 is set to hit Australian cinemas on January 30 and US cinemas on January 31, 2025.
