Following the teaser trailer unveiled in February, Netflix has now unveiled the full-length official trailer for upcoming prequel series Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story

The limited series takes us back to Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power, telling the story of how the young Queen’s marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift – creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.

The series stars India Amarteifio (Line of Duty) as Young Queen Charlotte, Michelle Fairley (Gangs of London) as Princess Augusta, Corey Mylchreest (The Sandman) as Young King George, and Arsema Thomas (television debut) as Young Agatha Danbury, among many others. Returning cast members include Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Agatha Danbury) and Ruth Gemmell (Lady Violet Bridgerton).

The series comes from Bridgerton executive producer and high-profile television creative Shonda Rhimes. Shondaland, the television production company created by the Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal creator, has a partnership affiliation with Netflix that also produced miniseries Inventing Anna.

Mark the date, Bridgerton fans: Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story will be streaming on Netflix on May 4th.
