Take a look above at the trailer for Disney‘s live-action Snow White that was first unveiled at the D23 Expo.

Starring Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, this live-action musical aims to bring a fresh perspective to the beloved 1937 animated classic, reintroducing audiences to the cherished characters Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy.

The animated original, loosely based on the 1812 German fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, is the first animated feature film produced in the United States and the first cel animated feature film. The plot follows a princess who, after being exiled into a perilous forest by her wicked stepmother, is rescued by seven dwarf miners who welcome Snow White into their home.

The film is directed by Marc Webb, whose credits include the two Andrew Garfield-starring Amazing Spider-Man films, 500 Days of Summer, and Gifted. The screenplay was penned by Greta Gerwig (Barbie) and Erin Cressida Wilson (The Girl on the Train). The movie features new original songs by the acclaimed songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the Oscar-winning La La Land duo who were also the writers on two new songs that featured in Disney’s 2019 remake of Aladdin.

Disney’s live-action remake of Snow White will be opening in Australian cinemas on March 20th and US cinemas on March 21st, 2025.
