‘Talk to Me’ Trailer: RackaRacka’s Bloody Aussie Horror Film is Getting a Big U.S. Release

Take a look at the trailer that’s arrived for Talk to Me, an Australian horror film that’s set for a big U.S. theatrical release following its acquisition at Sundance this year.

In a competitive situation, the film was picked up by A24, the entertainment company responsible for distributing horror hits such as The Witch, Hereditary, X, and Midsommar. It’s a big get for first-time filmmakers Danny Philippou and Michael Philippou, who are also big-time YouTubers with their elaborate sketch/prankster channel, RackaRacka, boasting over 6 million subscribers.

The film is Talk to Me, a horror film that’s been gathering highly positive early reviews on the festival circuit, with critics hailing the effective tension, scares, and gore. The plot follows a group of friends who discover how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand. They become hooked on the new thrill, until one of them goes too far and unleashes terrifying supernatural forces.

The cast includes Sophia Wilde, Joe Bird, Alexandra Jensen, Otis Dhanji, Miranda Otto, Marcus Johnson, Alexandria Steffensen, Zoe Terakes, and Chris Alosio. The Australian production company behind the film is Causeway, producers of 2014 Aussie horror hit The Babadook.

Talk to Me will be opening in Australian cinemas (distributed theatrically by Maslow Entertainment) on July 27th and U.S. cinemas (distributed by A24) on July 28th.
