The trailer has arrived for upcoming Netflix film The Mother, an action-thriller led by Jennifer Lopez.
JLo stars as a deadly female assassin who is forced to go into hiding and leave her daughter behind for the girl’s own protection. Years later, when her daughter’s life is put in danger by the dangerous men from her past, she’s thrown back into action. Joseph Fiennes and Gael García Bernal play the baddies.
The picture is directed New Zealand helmer Niki Caro, whose credits include Whale Rider, The Zookeeper’s Wife, and 2020’s Mulan. An interesting trio of screenwriters, too: Peter Craig (Top Gun: Maverick, The Batman), Misha Green (Lovecraft Country), and Andrea Berloff (Straight Outta Compton, World Trade Center).
The Mother, also starring Lucy Paez and Omari Hardwick, will be streaming on Netflix from May 12th.
