Elisha Cuthbert makes her return to the horror-thriller genre (her early credits included Are You Afraid of the Dark?, House of Wax, The Quiet, and Captivity) with upcoming Shudder Original The Cellar, set for a streaming release in April.

The official trailer has arrived for the film, which follows a family’s hellish experience in their new house in the country. After their daughter, Ellie (Abby Fitz, Irish Crime), mysteriously vanishes in the cellar of their new home, parents Keira (Cuthbert) and Brian (Eoin Macken, The Night Shift) desperately search for answers. They soon discover that their premises is being controlled by an ancient and powerful entity – one that needs to be faced, less their souls be lost forever.

The picture is written and directed by Brendan Muldowney, making his fourth feature following Savage (2009), Love Eternal (2013), and underseen 2017 Tom Holland, Jon Bernthal & Richard Armitage medieval drama Pilgrimage.

Also starring Dylan Fitzmaurice-Brady (Kin), The Cellar will be streaming on Shudder from April 15th.
