The first trailer has arrived for upcoming horror film The Nun II, the sequel to 2018’s The Nun and the ninth instalment (or the eighth? More of that in the reaction video below) in the franchise that is The Conjuring Universe.

Taissa Farmiga reprises her role as Sister Irene, who is again coming face to face with the demonic force that is Valak, the Nun. This time, the chaos takes places at a boarding school in France.

The film is directed by Michael Chaves, making his third film in the Conjuring franchise following The Curse of La Llorona (which he says is not really part of the universe) and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. Along with Farmiga, returning cast members include Jonas Bloquet and Bonnie Aaron, with Storm Reid and Anna Popplewell among the new faces.

The Nun II will be opening in Australian cinemas on September 7th and U.S. cinemas on September 8th.
