‘Twisters’ Trailer: Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones & Anthony Ramos Face Epic Tornadoes

The trailer has arrived for TWISTERS, a standalone sequel to the 1996 hit starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton. Watch the trailer above and take a look at the poster below.

The film has Daisy Edgar-Jones (Where the Crawdads Sing) playing Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City. She is lured back to the open plains by her friend, Javi (Anthony Ramos, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts), to test a groundbreaking new tracking system. There, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Glen Powell, Top Gun: Maverick), the charming and reckless social-media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his raucous crew, the more dangerous the better.

As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena never seen before are unleashed, and Kate, Tyler and their competing teams find themselves squarely in the paths of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.

At the helm of this new disaster movie is Lee Isaac Chung, going for a change of pace following his acclaimed 2020 immigrant-family drama, Minari, which earned him Oscar nominations for directing and original screenplay. Twisters‘ screenplay was penned by Mark L. Smith, whose credits include The Revenant and The Boys in the Boat.

The cast also includes David Corenswet (upcoming Superman: Legacy), Brandon Perea (Nope), Sasha Lane (American Honey), Daryl McCormack (Peaky Blinders), Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Nik Dodani (Atypical), and Maura Tierney (Beautiful Boy).

Twisters will be in Australian cinemas on July 16th and U.S. cinemas on July 19th.
