New ‘Pain Hustlers’ Trailer: Emily Blunt and Chris Evans are Pharma Reps Looking to Get Rich Quick

Watch the official trailer that’s arrived (following last month’s teaser trailer) that Netflix has released for Pain Hustlers, starring Emily Blunt and Chris Evans.

An adaptation of 2022 book The Hard Sell: Crime and Punishment at an Opioid Startup by writer Evan Hughes and his previous true-story 2018 New York Times Magazine article, “The Pain Hustlers” (which you can read in full RIGHT HERE), the film has Evans and Blunt playing pharmaceutical sales reps who embark on a dangerous scheme.

The plot follows Liza Drake (Blunt), a blue-collar single mom who has just lost her job and is at the end of her rope. A chance meeting with pharma sales rep Pete Brenner (Evans) puts her on an upwards trajectory economically but dubious path ethically as she becomes entangled in a dangerous racketeering scheme. Dealing with her increasingly unhinged boss (Andy Garcia), the worsening medical condition of her daughter (Chloe Coleman), and a growing awareness of the devastation the company is causing forces Liza to examine her choices.

The film is directed by David Yates, known for the last four Harry Potter films and the three Fantastic Beasts films. The screenplay was written by Wells Tower.

Pain Hustlers, also starring Catherine O’Hara, Jay Duplass and Brian d’Arcy James, will be streaming on Netflix from October 27th.
