The first trailer has arrived for the upcoming action-comedy-fantasy film, Red One, a holiday adventure led by Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans. Take a look above.
The film’s plot revolves around the kidnapping of none other than Santa Claus himself (played by J.K. Simmons), codenamed “RED ONE”. North Pole’s Head of Security (Johnson) teams up with the world’s most infamous bounty hunter, portrayed by Evans, who also happens to be on the naughty list (a Level Four Naughty Lister, to be precise), on a globe-trotting, action-packed mission to find Nick and save Christmas.
The film is helmed by Jake Kasdan, who previously directed Johnson in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Jumanji: The Next Level, and whose credits include Cameron Diaz comedies Bad Teacher and Sex Tape. The screenplay was written by Chris Morgan, known for Wanted, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, and for being a long-time scribe on the Fast & Furious franchise. The original story comes from Hiram Garcia, President of Production at Johnson’s production company, Seven Bucks Productions.
The film’s ensemble includes Lucy Liu, Kiernan Shipka, Bonnie Hunt, Kristofer Hivju, Nick Kroll, and Wesley Kimmel.
Red One is set to hit Australian cinemas on November 14 and US cinemas on November 15.
