The official trailer has arrived for upcoming slasher horror film Thanksgiving, based on Eli Roth’s (Cabin Fever, Hostel) mock trailer of the same name from the Death Proof and Planet Terror double feature, Grindhouse (2007).

What is Thanksgiving about? Here’s the official synopsis:

After a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy, a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts – the birthplace of the holiday. Picking off residents one by one, what begins as random revenge killings are soon revealed to be part of a larger, sinister holiday plan. Will the town uncover the killer and survive the holidays…or become guests at his twisted holiday dinner table?

Who stars in the film?

The cast includes Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Milo Manheim, Jalen Brooks Thomas, Nell Verlaque, Rick Hoffman and Gina Gershon.

Who directed and wrote the film?

The film was directed by Eli Roth, who was also behind the faux trailer the film is based on. Roth came up with the film’s story alongside Jeff Rendell, who is credited as sole screenwriter.

When is Thanksgiving being released in cinemas?

The film will open in Australian cinemas on November 16th and U.S. cinemas on November 17th (appropriately close to Thanksgiving – November 23rd).
